Hi, I'm Jennifer.
I design plain language, human-centered web content that’s easy to read, use, and remember—for everyone.

About

I’m a digital content consultant and UX writer dedicated to making public sector content clearer, more inclusive, and easier to use. With a focus on plain language, clarity, and government communication standards, I manage the full content lifecycle—from strategy and writing to stakeholder coordination and launch. While I specialize in government web content, I also craft compelling speeches, scripts, and proposal materials.

Featured work

🗳 Municipal government election websites

Type: Government site | 2x launches (Municipal + By-election)I led the content and project delivery for two election websites—serving hundreds of thousands of users—where clarity and reliability were top priorities. For the by-election, I addressed key technical and UX challenges including:

  • Co-existing legacy and new web content

  • Tight timelines due to sudden election call

  • Real-time issue resolution, such as rapid site updates after a fire alarm incident occurred on election day

  • End-to-end coordination with IT, communications, marketing, and elections staff

As the sole content lead trusted by stakeholders, I wrote the content, designed the information architecture, and built the webpages. I ensured users could easily find the who, what, where, when, why, and how of voting.

✅ Voter information delivered clearly and timely
✅ Crisis content adapted live on election day
✅ Strategy and content now used as future model for elections

🏢 Government program page overhaul

Type: Government program pages for renters and landlordsThe original page tried to serve both renters and landlords using tabs—a pattern many users overlook. As a result, landlords often missed key information, and renters were left with content that lacked flow, clarity, and actionable steps. This confusion contributed to a drop in complaint submissions—something City Council flagged as a concern. What I did:

  • Created two separate pages—one for renters, one for landlords—with clear, action-led titles tailored to each audience

  • Structured each page like a story, guiding users through what they can do, why it matters, and what happens next

  • Rewrote all the content in plain language, focusing on user-first content design

Results that matter: By understanding user intent and creating focused experiences, I delivered a 331% increase in users while achieving 85.65% engagement on the high-value registration page.

✅ Total views: 14,165 (+248%)
✅ Unique users: 10,597 (+331%)
✅ Engagement rate: 85.65%
✅ Total events: 81,473 (+216%)

While I specialize in translating complex information into clear, digestible web content, I also write persuasive speeches, ad scripts, and proposals that help teams stand out and connect with wide audiences in high-stakes settings.

Proposal writing for bids
Wrote persuasive content used in successful RFP submissions and industry magazines, translating team expertise into standout messaging.
Ad scripts and speeches
Delivered engaging scripts for promotional videos, events, and compelling c-suite executive speeches for internal and external audiences.

Approach

I write for people—not for optics. Why? As a child of immigrants, I often translated official documents for my family. I know how overwhelming and frustrating complex information can be—especially for those with limited literacy or ESL backgrounds. That lived experience fuels my passion for making content easily understandable. My goal is to make content clear, inclusive, and easy to understand so it helps, not overwhelms.I focus on:

  • Plain language and readability for readers of all backgrounds

  • Thoughtful information architecture

  • User-centered writing grounded in real-world experience

  • Strong stakeholder management that balances user and business needs

Whether I’m leading a project solo or mediating between departments, I deliver impactful outcomes.

How I can help
